 In his youth, Adil Baguirov exhibited an immense passion for education. He faced a crossroads in his own life when, as a teenager in the Soviet Union -- in the land today known as Azerbaijan -- his educational endeavors nearly took him to Moscow for law school following high school. However, an opportunity to study in the United States presented itself and Baguirov made a decision that forever changed his life; he chose to pursue studies in America. This desire for an education carried on well beyond his graduation from the University of Southern California in 1999. Adil Baguirov shared his hopes for a worthwhile education system with the voters as he campaigned then subsequently won membership with the Dayton Board of Education in Ohio. He also continued his own education, earning a PhD from MGIMO University.
